What does a delayed quote label mean?

It means the value is intentionally published after the provider or exchange delay shown in the interface. It must not be interpreted as a real-time observation.

Why can a trusted value be marked stale?

A prior eligible observation may remain visible during a provider outage, reconnect, or unresolved session transition. CandleScript.io marks it stale instead of silently estimating a replacement.

Can historical bars be available while the newest quote is unavailable?

Yes. Durable historical coverage and mutable quote or forming-bar freshness are separate. The selected symbol and timeframe can therefore have history even when its newest eligible observation is delayed, stale, or unavailable.

How to read a quote label

Current

The product has a current eligible observation for the symbol's applicable market and entitlement.

Delayed

The value is intentionally time-delayed. The interface identifies the delay rather than presenting it as current.

Stale

A prior trusted value can be shown during a provider or session gap. It is marked stale instead of being silently refreshed or estimated.

Unavailable

No eligible value is available for the requested market, timeframe, or entitlement. CandleScript.io does not synthesize a replacement quote.

US stocks and ETFs: Supported US stocks and ETFs provide real-time market data.
Selected US indices: Selected US index quotes and historical charts are available.

Charts and historical bars

Historical coverage and the newest forming bar have different freshness rules. A chart can show durable history while the current bar is delayed, forming, corrected, or unavailable. The workstation and symbol page expose the state that applies to the selected instrument and timeframe.
